As a member of the Alpine Initiative you will support a non-profit organisation which has been fighting for a viable Alpine region ever since 1987 - and whose task is far from being fulfilled with the adoption of the Article for the Protection of the Alps into the Swiss Federal Constitution.
The Alpine Initiative is a Swiss asscociation. In 1989 the association launched the popular initiative "for the protection of the Alpine region from transit traffic", that was accepted on the 20th February 1994 by a majority of both the Swiss population and the cantons.
